Support
For help with ScubaCam, email maartenveenstra@gmail.com. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, housing model and a description of the problem.
Compatible housings and iPhones
ScubaCam supports Oceanic Bluetooth housings and housings that connect to the iPhone as a keyboard. Oceanic support includes button controls, the automatic vacuum pump and the seal check. For a keyboard-style housing, open Manage housings on Home, choose Add a generic housing and assign its buttons. ScubaCam requires iOS 26 or later. If you are unsure about a housing, email its model name before relying on it for a dive.
Adding support for another housing
In Manage housings, choose Help support a new housing to record its Bluetooth information while you press the buttons. This recording only reads from the housing; it does not send commands. You can choose to email the recording to help the developer assess compatibility.
Pre-dive seal checks
On supported Oceanic housings, ScubaCam runs the vacuum pump and monitors pressure for three minutes. A hand-pump housing with a vacuum valve can use the iPhone’s barometer for the check. If the check fails, do not dive with the phone in the housing. Follow the housing manufacturer’s sealing instructions and depth rating. ScubaCam is not a dive computer.
Camera formats and focus
Available resolutions, frame rates and recording formats depend on your iPhone, lens and other camera settings. The app shows the choices supported by that configuration.
In the dive menu, open Focus to select an available mode. Far gives autofocus a preference for distant subjects; Macro prefers nearby subjects. Neither sets a fixed focus distance. Hold focus locks the current focus. You can assign a housing button to switch between Auto and Far without opening the menu.
Saved photos and videos
Captures appear in Media. With Photos permission, files that pass the file check are also saved to Photos. Full Photos access lets ScubaCam group them in a ScubaCam album; add-only access saves them without the album. Files that fail the check are kept as recovery files for possible recovery.
Color correction
Preview the correction, adjust its strength, then save or share a separate copy. Originals remain unchanged. Photo correction is free, including saving and sharing. Video correction requires Pro. Both can correct one file or several at once.
ScubaCam Pro
Pro adds Apple Log 2, ProRes, manual shutter angle and ISO, capture presets, an advanced controls panel and video color correction. HLG HDR recording and photo color correction are free. Available capture formats still depend on your iPhone and lens.
Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription. Prices and eligible trial offers are shown in the app. To restore a purchase, open Settings › Pro in ScubaCam and choose Restore purchases. To cancel, open Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone.
